TEDxUSU

 What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDx[name], where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDx[name] event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED.

Nominate a speaker

We are requesting nominations for outstanding speakers for USU's next TEDx event. Each speaker will give a 15-minute talk, with or without visual aids, to communicate ideas that can change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. More than a research presentation, the content of a TED talk is designed to be open to a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder -- and to provoke conversations that matter.

TEDxUSU 2013: SURVIVE

It's a fundamental instinct—quite literally—do or die. In the 21st century, with serious economic, environmental and societal dangers threatening, it’s time to get back to basics. In order to thrive, we must first learn to SURVIVE.

We are pleased to announce TEDxUSU 2013, to be held on Nov. 5. We have secured a full TEDx license, which will remove the 100-attendee cap we had last year. We will hold the event in the USU Performance Hall, which will accommodate about 400 attendees. Some seats will be reserved for special attendees, and the remaining seats will be available to the general public in September.
