The Office of Research and Graduate Studies strives to provide the support faculty need to excel across their research and teaching responsibilities. We believe that regardless of the time you’ve spent in academia, there are still opportunities to learn and bolster your skills. One such opportunity to retool is our Training for Research Faculty (TRF) series.

TRF workshops highlight common experiences and challenges faculty face regardless of discipline. From tips and resources to improve your relationship with your graduate students, to addressing policy regarding the tenure and sabbatical process, TRF provides information and tools for faculty to thrive in their appointments.

Discover opportunities in interdisciplinary graduate training

To be competitive today, graduate students need to have expertise in more areas than just their own discipline. Providing your students with that interdisciplinary education, though, can sometimes seem daunting. At this Training for Research Faculty, hear from other USU faculty members who have been able to successfully reach beyond their programs and departments to broaden their students’ skill sets in three ways:

  1. Learning tools, methods and models on the fringes of a discipline.
  2. Developing broad, marketable skills.
  3. Combining multiple disciplines in a new and innovative way.
