RESEARCH COMMUNICATION TRAINING

Communicating your research clearly, confidently and effectively can be as important as the research itself. Clear communication will help you find funding, recruit the best people to your team and help gather public support.

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies at USU is committed to helping student researchers become excellent research communicators. SRS provides an opportunity for you to get experience presenting in a low-risk environment where you’ll receive feedback from faculty researchers, speech coaches and professional science communicators.

By participating in SRS, you’ll also have the opportunity to prepare through training. Three trainings are offered by the RGS Project Management and Communication Team, the same team responsible for TEDxUSU, Sunrise Sessions, Ignite USU and other highly successful research communication events on campus. These experts will share what they’ve learned from years of speaker and presentation preparation.

Participation in these trainings is voluntary, but highly recommended.

You can also earn an Excellent Communicator Badge that will be on your event name tag.
