Honoring Tradition, Securing Our Future is the theme of USU’s comprehensive campaign, the largest of its kind in the history of the university. These words are a fitting description of our goal for university advancement and giving, but they also characterize research at Utah State University.
Through research programs that provide specialized agricultural, financial, and assistive services to citizens throughout Utah, we are honoring our 120-year land-grant tradition. At the same time, we are securing our future by creating solutions that benefit not just USU, but the state, the nation, and the world. Developing alternative fuels, monitoring our fragile human and natural ecosystems, and creating innovative technologies provide all of us with keys to a successful future.
USU research is connected to all the primary missions of USU, and we’ve expanded Research Matters this year to better show its broad reach. In addition to projects from each college, you will read about selected major research centers, the activities of our undergraduate and graduate students, and the continuing progress of our work with the Utah Science, Technology, and Research (USTAR) initiative.
Research Matters at USU. With roots in our past, it opens the way to our future. We appreciate your interest in and support of Utah State University.
