Target Audience: Graduate students, postdoctoral research fellows, and non-tenure-track faculty members.

This seminar is a modification of the advanced grant writing seminar, Write Winning Grant Proposals (WWGP), and includes more basic material and allows more time for questions and discussion. Attendees will leave the program ready to write their first grant proposal, whether it is a fellowship application, a career development award, or their first research-grant application.

The Arts & Humanities grant writing seminar is similar to the WWGP seminar but with special emphasis on how to write successful proposals to the funders of creative activities.

Target Audience: Faculty members eager to learn how to write better proposals for external funding of their research. New faculty are especially encouraged but established faculty who may be less experienced in developing proposals for external funding consideration or simply want to improve their efforts are also welcome.

During the Proposal Writing Institute (PWI), participants will work on a specific proposal to an extramural funder that must be submitted as a result of the PWI activities. A comprehensive approach to the proposal development process will be achieved during the PWI through presentations, discussions, and small-group activities.
