School of Graduate Studies

There are a lot of demands on graduate students, from academic to professional to personal. For students with families, that can be extra demanding, but Utah State and Logan provide a family-friendly environment you can feel comfortable in during your graduate education. Around half of USU’s graduate students have children.

With an education program that ranks in the top 25 nationally, there is no shortage of childcare options offered both on and off campus:

For students with school-age children, Logan and Cache Valley are home to two school districts, Logan City School District and Cache County School District.

Logan hosts family-friendly activities year round, including the Willow Park Zoo, Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center, a junior engineers program put on by USU’s College of Engineering, and the North Logan Pumpkin Walk.

For the day-to-day aspects of family life, Logan can’t be beat. With the lowest crime rate of any metro area in the country, Logan was rated as one of the most secure towns in the nation. While you pursue your graduate degree at USU, you can rest easy bringing your family to Logan.
