Abstract submission open for spring presentation opportuntities

USU undergraduates are invited to submit research abstracts for five presentation opportunities held Jan.-Apr. next year:

UCUR - Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research

Every year one of the institutions of higher education hosts the Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research. This year, Utah State University is hosting! The conference will be held on February 22, 2013 and will inlaced both poster sessions and oral presentation sessions. The call for proposals is now open and will close on November 15th, 2102.

Utah Research on Capitol Hill

Utah's Research on Capitol Hill is an annual celebration of undergraduate research held in the Rotunda of the State Capitol. Organized by USU, it features the two public research universities' students and their research projects. Students of all disciplines from around the state share the results of their investigations with legislators. This year, the event will be held on January 31st. 

NCUR- National Conference on Undergraduate Research

UCUR was actually based on a national conference of the same name, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research is held every year. This year, it will be held in La Crosse, WI, April 11-13, 2013. The call for proposals is open, students may submit a proposal anytime between now and December 4, 2012. Travel costs for this conference are covered by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies.

CUR Posters on the Hill

In the Spring of 2013 the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) will host its 17th annual undergraduate poster session on Capitol Hill. This event will help members of Congress understand the importance of undergraduate research by talking directly with the students whom these programs impact. There will be two student presentation sessions, a luncheon panel and poster session for arts and humanities students, and an evening poster session and reception for science and social sciences students. The submission deadline is the end of day, November 1, 2012. Selected participants will be notified in late February 2013.
