Schedule of Events
12:30 p.m. – Assembly of candidates at the Nelson Field House (During this time, you will receive your name card, be placed in line for the processional and receive instructions on hood placement.)
1:00 p.m. – Academic procession from Nelson Field House to Dee Glen Smith Spectrum
1:30 p.m. – Ceremony begins in Dee Glen Smith Spectrum
Participation and Completion Requirements
Cap and Gown
Your cap and gown can be purchased at the Graduation Fair in the USU Campus Store Grad Fair (TBA). You can also order your graduation essentials on the Campus Store website up until the day before graduation for in-store pick up. For further information contact the Campus Store at 1-800-662-3950 or 435-797-3950.
Candidates for graduate degrees wear the black mortarboard with a black tassel and carry the hood that has a color band distinctive of the college from which you are graduating.
You will carry the hood over your left arm at the Graduate Ceremony on Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Diplomas are mailed 8-10 weeks after the end of the semester. Degrees will be awarded and appear on your transcripts within 45 days after the end of the semester. Please update your diploma address in Access (Banner) to ensure your diploma is sent to the right place.
For verification of the degree, official transcripts can be obtained through the Registrar’s Office at any time after your degree has been awarded. The degree will also show on your unofficial transcripts through Access (Banner).
For Doctoral and Master’s Plans A/B students, the library notification and Graduate Dean’s signature (doctoral/plan A only) must be received by the Graduate School no later than May 5 in order for you to be considered a spring completion. Otherwise, your completion semester will be the summer semester. For more details, please review the Degree Completion page.
