Vision: To enhance USU’s culture of research excellence in the areas of compliance, regulatory awareness and research integrity.
The Division of Research Integrity and Compliance (RIC) facilitates the development of research capacity through:
- The provision of regulatory, policy and procedural support;
- Oversight of the Conflict of Interest management process; and
- Delivery of education and training in the Responsible Conduct of Research
Working directly with USU investigators, leaders at the departmental and college level and division directors in the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, the Federal Compliance Manager, as the division director of RIC, focuses on identifying and strengthening research-related internal control systems. Implementation of these systems is coordinated system-wide through the Integrative Compliance Committee, a key organization managed within RIC.
In addition to its attention to the development, operation and monitoring of USU research compliance systems, RIC also supports education and training to USU’s research community. RIC’s activities in this area include administration of the Research Scholars’ Certification Program and training in other compliance related areas.
